Yoga and Yogurt Bowls

Yogurt bowls are baaaaack! Hooray!

Well, I mean, they’ve been here this whole time. I never stopped eating them. I just didn’t blog about them for two weeks. And, if I’m being honest, I sort of liked the challenge. I should be posting more often about lunches and dinners and less often about my repetitive breakfasts and will make an effort to do that from now on.

But, for now, let’s just rejoice in the return of the yogurt bowl.

Into the mix went:

  • Vanilla 0% Chobani
  • blackberries
  • raspberries
  • strawberries
  • pomegranate seeds
  • nut granola

All mixed up and no place to go (except my tummy)…

I’ll be here all day, folks.

In other news, I had a personal yoga lesson this morning.

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this on the blog (and am too lazy to look it up), but Mark recently got certified as a yoga instructor and has to do a number of hours of free teaching before he can start teaching professionally.

That’s where I come in.

I know. I am such a good friend.

So, Mark and I basically turned our garage into a yoga studio (by which I mean we cleaned it together and he got a bunch of yoga supplies).

And now, Mark has taken on the ultimate challenge: teaching me yoga.

I don’t think he anticipated how hard it would be. This was (the back of ) his lesson plan:

Now, I don’t know what all them fancy words mean, but I’m fairly sure we didn’t even make it halfway down the list. Mark spent a whooooole lot of time correcting my form on some very simple things.

It’s funny. I consider myself pretty strong. Stick me in a strength training class and I can usually out-lift the other women. Put me in a boot camp class and I will race the person next to me (I think I might be competitive?). But try to get me to go from downward dog to cobra? You’ve got your work cut out for you.

Poor Mark.

He had no idea what he was getting himself into.

On the bright side, I think I am teaching him a little something about how to deal with snarky comments from his students. 🙂

I mean, we all have to bring something to the table, right?

Live in LA and want free lessons from Mark?? Let me know and I’ll see what I can do!

Oh cool! How lucky to have that personal attention. I just got a month at a yoga studio for my birthday and I’m going to try to go every day. Today is day two. Ouch.

If Mark needs an equally clueless (and perhaps less snarky) yoga student, I’m the girl for him!

  8. Sounds fun! Love your blog!

I’ve been doing yoga on and off for years but always struggle with it because of my body shape. I can do backbends like no other but struggle with… pretty much everything else (especially inversions). I always feel like I’m going to tip over!
